Misty River Campground is the newest campground in the Townsend area.
Just in the four short years that we have been open, we have received some great awards for making our campers happy.
We are one of only 33 campgrounds and RV resorts across the USA to earn an all around “A” grade in the nation’s consumer satisfaction survey of independent parks in overall guest satisfaction for the year 2010. There is only 13 campgrounds in the nation to achieve this award three yeard is a row and Misty River is one of them!

We also received an “A” rating in the same survey for 2008 and is the only park in Tennessee to receive the award two years in a row andTennessee Campground of the Year 2008-2009.
Just some of the reasons customers love it at Misty River are the nice wide campsites, the large pool and hottub, the fishing and tubing in the pristine waters of the Little River and our great customer service. We are especially proud of our modern and private individual bath rooms. Nothing like the old fashioned gym showers you see in other resorts. The facilities are climate controlled, provide instant hot water and are maintained to the highest levels of cleanliness.
The entrance to the GreatSmokyMountainNational Park is only 11 miles away. When you see the abundant wildlife and miles of scenic roads that make the Great Smoky National Park so beautiful you will understand why Misty River Cabins & RV Resort is such a big hit. One day we working around the campground, enjoying the beautiful Smoky Mountains when we hear Clippity Clop … Clippity Clop and we look up to see the 1st RV ever made.
You never know what will drive into the campground.

FIREWOOD QUARANTINE: Firewood from a number of states, including two counties of Tennessee and two Canadian Provinces is quarantined due to an insect infestation by one or more insect pests (e.g. the Emerald Ash Borer) that is devastating certain tree species. Please help protect our forests from these destructive pests and do not bring firewood into the Park from the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin as well as Knox and Loudon counties in Tennessee and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
