It's 2012 and time to start preparing for this years Vintage Camper Spring Rally in the Smokies 2012!
Misty River Campground started hosting the vintage rallies in spring of 2009, so this will be the 5th year and sure to be the best yet!
The vintage rallies at Misty River Campground are not associated with any club or associations. The reason Misty River Campground host vintage campers is because we think vintage campers and the people who loves vintage campers are fun to be around.
You don’t have to worry about having to join a club for our vintage rallies. If your club would like to attend, you are more than welcome to come join us. If you would like us to host an event just for your club, please let us know how we can help to set it up.

Thursday: Early arrivals can set up and hang out with other vintage campers, No events are planned for this day.
Friday: Start the morning off with a nice free hot cup of Joe by the pool at the BBQ stand. The rest of the vintage campers arrive today. This is a great day to walk around the park, get the low down on how to do some new things to your trailer, hang out with old and new friends, do a little sight seeing, shopping, hiking or just relax! We will have a marshmallow roast at the big fire ring around sunset. I will bring the marshmallows and you bring the stick.
Saturday: This is The Big Day! After having your morning coffee, everyone will get ready for the Big Open House and Swap Meet. This event is the best part of the whole rally. We will invite the public, vintage camper owners and those who want to be, the Press and everyone else to come on down and visit with us from 1:00pm till 3:00pm only!
We will also hold a swap meet at the same time, so you can all drag out all of those great collectables and vintage trailer related items to sell at your site.
The Pot luck dinner in the club house is at 6pm for all the vintage campers attending the rally. Misty River Campground will fire up the smoker and supply mouth watering Pork BBQ, you get to bring something else.
To make things more fun at the potluck dinner, we are going to have a "UGLY or just plain USELESS Gift Exchange". This will require you to bring a wrap gift of the ugliest or most useless $5 dollar or under gift you can find and bring it to the potluck for a gift exchange! Do you have something you might have received that is perfect for “re-gifting”? It cannot, however, be a cruel or demeaning gift as we will have some young campers joining us at the dinner. If you already have one of those useless things at home, feel free to unload it on someone else!!!
Sunday: It has been a great weekend but it is now time for us to start packing it in for the drive home.

As you know some campgrounds don’t like vintage campers and only want RVs that are less than 10 years old.
Here at Misty River we LOVE vintage campers. Just look… we have one of the original RVs stop and spend the night with us. They are on the way to North Carolina and just spent one night with us.
